CNU XVI: Sustainability and the Booming Metropolis

Sustainable Buildings Tour
Friday, April 4 at 4pm
Austin Convention Center (500 E Cesar Chavez Street)
Meet at the northeast corner of the Convention Center (the corner of 4th and Trinity).
[info]
CNU XVI starts today. If you see a lot of progressive looking urban-planning types walking around near the convention center, that's why. The Congress' official subtitle is "New Urbanism and the Booming Metropolis," which is certainly appropriate for Austin, but sustainability is also a major topic. On Friday, City Green of Austin is hosting two free events that are open to the public. The first is a Sustainable Buildings Tour, which will include several of Austin's LEED and AEGB certified buildings. The second is the Sustainabash at Speakeasy. Click here for information on more free events.

M1EK is too busy with his day job to even think about going, sadly, but oh man do I want to heckle Krusee, who can bang the NU drum from now until the day he dies without coming close to healing the damage he did to Austin's chances of being sustainably urban by forcing Capital Metro to hold that light rail election early.

No, we can't fix it now, even with his "Come to Sinclair Black" moment. Fukkbiscuit!
