Wine Tasting: Folio's, Well, Portfolio At The Four Seasons This Thursday

Wine Tasting: Folio Fine Wines
Thursday, March 20
Four Seasons Hotel (98 San Jacinto Blvd.)
6:30-9pm, $50 for foundation members, $60 for general public
[info] | [tickets]
While many of you may be feeling an aversion to adult beverages following your SXSW shenanigans, rest assured that by Thursday, you'll be ready to go out again. And what could be better than doing so in style with a wine tasting featuring Rob Mondavi? The Wine and Food Foundation is sponsoring an event this Thursday at The Four Seasons featuring the global wines from Folio, which is a Mondavi-run company featuring over 25 wine labels from California, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Argentina. Over 40 wines will be available to sample at this tasting event.

Folio's team are also bringing guest pourers with them to the event from several of the member labels. Thus, you can talk with both winemakers and distributors to learn more about what you're tasting and get a better feel for what each label is up to. The special guests include:

Rob Mondavi: Oberon, Hangtime, I’M Wines (Napa, Sonoma & California)
Marchesi Ferdinando Frescobaldi: Frescobaldi Estates, Attems & Tenuta dell’Ornellaia (Tuscany & Friuli)
Antonio Rallo: Donnafugata (Sicily)
Geoff Whitman: Medusa/Spellbound Wines (California)
Nicole Andrus: Vall Llach, Palacios Remondo, Cims de Porrera, Capafons-Osso, Fillaboa, Mas de l’Abunduncia, Comenge (Spanish Regions: Priorat, Montsant, Rias Bixas, Ribera del Duero & Rioja)
Alessandro Vella: Villa Sandi (Veneto, Prosecco DOC)

Of the labels mentioned, we'll give a special mention to the excellent Medusa Zinfandels, which are among the best we've ever tasted. Stop by and see the power that Medusa's winemakers are unleashing from their Zinfandel - you will not be disappointed. For those who prefer old world wines, there's also quite a bit on offer from Italy and Spain.

In addition to enjoying some outstanding wines and the opportunity to talk with these industry leaders, your ticket purchase directly benefits The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas – Texas’ premiere charity for the culinary and viticulture arts.

To purchase tickets ($50-$60), call (512) 327-7555 or click on the "tickets" link under the photo above.
