This Week in Theatre: SXSW Doings

Guess we'll go ahead point you to a few South-by events...since SXSW has taken over this town. One requires tickets—no badge! The other is free for badge-holders, though there's a general public, sneak peek tonight.

Those not fully stewed in SXSW can still enjoy the Upright Citizens Brigade—and we're talking UCB founders Matt Walsh, Matt Besser and Ian Roberts. Tonight is A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T. Improv at United States Art Authority. Tomorrow, catch The Show at ColdTowne Theater, with openers ColdTowne. At 8 & 10pm both nights; tickets online.

If you're doing the South-by dance, consider dropping by the South Tent (Brush Square Park, 5th and Neches) tomorrow to check out the Bowery Poetry Club. Kicking off at 11:30am with a group that includes Shappy, Gary Glazner (Bowery curator), and Bob Holman (Bowery founder), the performances continue every half hour until 3pm. There's also plenty of music on the bill—among others, Kimya Dawson, prominently featured on the Juno soundtrack, plays at 12:30pm. Also, expect a few guest appearances from Austin Slam locals, and Wammo emcees! Full schedule after the jump.
