SXSW Music News Bits: More Wristbands Wednesday, Free Shows Galore, & Don't Forget Your Permits

KEXP Remote From The ACL Studio: Seattle's awesome KEXP has two days worth of free shows open to the public. No RSVP is required, it's simply subject to venue capacity. They'll be broadcasting live from the ACL Studios on the UT campus on Friday and Saturday of SXSW. Here's their band schedule:
3/14: Devotchka (11:30am), The Breeders (1:30pm), Handsome Furs (3:30pm), Does It Offend You, Yeah? (5:30pm), Holy Fuck (7:30pm)
3/15: Positive Vibrations w/ Kid Hops (11am), These New Puritans (2pm), Tapes 'N' Tapes (4pm), The Raveonettes (6pm), Blitzen Trapper (8pm)
Auditorium Shores: As usual, the SXSW organizers say 'thanks' to Austin for allowing the festival to overtake downtown by arranging three days of free Auditorium Shores shows with some high-profile names from the festival. These shows are open to the public and all are welcome. This year's band list:
3/13: Grupo Fantasma (6pm), Del The Funky Homosapien (7pm), Spoon (8pm)
3/14: The Sadies (6pm), Eliza Gilkyson (7pm), The BoDeans (8pm)
3/15: Super Pal Universe (1pm), Rachel Trachtenburg Morning Show (1:45pm), Christian Scott (3:30pm), Lyrics Born (4:30pm), Strong Arm Steady (5:30pm), Jean Grae (6:15pm), Talib Kweli (7pm), Ice Cube (8pm).
KGSR/Four Seasons Remote: This one isn't free, but it's close enough - from KGSR.com: "Your $5.00 donation to the Seton Cancer Center will allow you access to the broadcast with music and breakfast." Bryan Beck and Andy Langer will host the station's morning show live from the lobby of The Four Seasons next week, so head there for some music and grub. Guests include Brett Dennen, Hayes Carll, Reckless Kelly, She & Him (Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward), The Greyhounds, Steve Poltz, Justin Townes Earle, The Whigs and more. We've also heard that a couple of famous Texas musicians may just stop by to co-host.
Finally, An Ominous Note: News 8 reports that Public Assembly Code Enforcement teams (PACE) are being organized to check on both official and unofficial SXSW shows. We will end here by imploring all party organizers to get the proper permits for your shows so that they don't get shut down! Call the City Of Austin or the Austin Fire Department for more information.
