Tired of the same old gay bar scene in Austin? Want to bust the mold a bit and cut loose on the dance floor without getting sandwiched by two sweaty, shirtless, writhing circuit boys?
Go Dance Studios on Anderson Lane is launching a new program for same-sex partners called Out Dancing. The fun begins Sunday, March 9 at 7pm with a free salsa lesson from 7:30-8:15pm, followed by special performances by teachers and students of the studio and a DJ-spun dance social open to all.
Proceeds from this kick-off event will benefit
Project Transitions which, in case you haven’t caught one of their recent soirées at
Top Drawer Thrift, is a local organization dedicated to providing housing and hospice care to people living with HIV and AIDS. So, unlike a night in the Warehouse district, you can rest assured your $10 door cover is benefitting something worthwhile (and includes light food and drink!) Partner-less? Don’t let that stop you. There will be plenty of other single dancers to switch off with. For more information or to order tickets ahead of time, call (512)339-9391 or contact
Jason Rosen at Project Transitions.
