If you were there to see the many downright amazing clips featured in “You’re Looking at Country,” a Music Mondays presentation at the Drafthouse a few weeks ago hosted by Dallas Wayne, among live performances by Faron Young, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn and more was The Man in Black himself, Johnny Cash, pickin’ his big hit “Get Rhythm.”
And the way he played, both serious and celebratory, with the cool backing of his Tennessee Three band, reminded us just exactly why Cash was an icon, and why there will be another performer quite like him.
If you’d like to see a lot more of Cash, and remember him the way he was, come to Drafthouse at the Ritz this evening for a Cash-tacular screening called Johnny Cash: The Man and his Music. This compendium of clips features T.V. Spots, live performances, and even “rare promotional films.” It’s a country smorgasbord for the low price of two dollars, so throw on the blackest ensemble you’ve got, and come on out.

"...and why there will be another performer quite like him."
Looking forward to it!
