Wynn Offers Official Welcome

Mayor Will Wynn issued the following address to the estimated 400 press and party-affiliated people coming into town for tonight's festivities:
"Tonight we're honored to witness a great contest of ideas -- truly, the democratic process at its best.

When the debate is done, each of us will take time to reflect on the solemn decision that lies before us...

Will it be Tex-Mex or BBQ?!!!

As the Mayor of this great city, it is my pleasure to welcome you and thank you for your role in bringing this 2008 Democratic Presidential Debate to Austin. While you're here, I hope you'll take advantage of our exceptional night life and discover for yourself why we're known as the Live Music Capital of the World.

Whether you cast your vote for Tex-Mex or BBQ, bottle or draft, I know you'll enjoy One Big Night in Austin, Texas."
