Political Remainders: Chelsea Clinton Speaking at ACC, Obama Rally in Downtown Austin

  • For those who are watching from home but don't have access to CNN, local PBS affiliate KLRU will be airing the debate on tape-delay, starting at 9pm
  • DailyKos has an informative rundown of each democratic candidate's proposed legislation and their record in the Senate (thanks, MikeB)
  • Chelsea Clinton will speak at ACC’s South Austin Campus tomorrow morning at 9:45am. The event is free and open to the public
  • Senator Barack Obama will host a "Stand for Change" Rally on Congress Avenue tomorrow night, with gates opening at 6pm and the event starting around 9pm. The rally is free and open ot the public, but RSVP is required as space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Event coordinators ask that you refrain from bringing bags, signs, and banners.
  • KUT News recently launched a special Election News website, with interactive polls, voter resources, and more
  • Obama paid a visit to the UT Longhorns team this morning
  • Mike Huckabee spoke out in support of John McCain, post-New York Times report, saying "I take him at his word, I’ve had no further comment other than that. I think for me to get into is completely immaterial – again, I only know what I know him to be, and that’s a good and decent and honorable man.â€
  • Though a majority of Texans disapprove of President Bush, 52% of those polled would still favor McCain over Obama, and even slightly more so versus Clinton
  • Former President Bill Clinton tells crowd in Beaumont, "If you don't deliver for her then I don't think she can. It's all on you."
  • KXAN Austin News just released the results of two statewide polls they commissioned, which show Clinton and Obama in a statistical tie and McCain comfortably ahead of Huckabee
