Alamo Hosts Oscar Night Jollities

Oscar Night Red Carpet Feast/Bash
Sunday, February 24
Three Alamos: Downtown, South Lamar, and Village
6 PM; $15 for the bash, $60 for the feast
[info] | [tickets]
Tired of staying in your house to watch the Oscars, all seventy hours of them? Want to heckle in the company of others? Couture make you really hungry? The Alamo is having their Red Carpet Bashes and Red Carpet Feast this year once again (the foodless festivities take place at the Ritz and the Village; South Lamar is rolling out the banquet). There will be contests, clips, and singalongs to while away the boring parts at all three events.

And at South Lamar, there will be multiple courses based upon nominated films and executed by chef John Bullington. The "No Country for Old Men" entree, for example, sounds delicious: coffee rubbed and seared venison on heirloom tomato salad with toasted peanut vinaigrette. (See if you catch Anton Chigurh putting that in his scary mouth!)

**Ed Note: The Ritz party is SOLD OUT. But as of this writing, there are still tickets for the Village and South Lamar parties. The Lake Creek party is first-come first-served, we think.
