Not one to let politicians bogart the limelight, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates is coming to UT Austin next Wednesday, February 20, for a special student- and faculty-only lecture.

Entitled “Software, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Giving Back," Gates' talk is the latest stop on his five-campus university tour, wherein he's set out to "emphasize the importance of digital innovation in driving the global economy and addressing societal issues and the benefits afforded careers based in math and science." Other stops along his road trip include Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon.

In recent years, Gates has transitioned away from the day-to-day shenanigans at the software giant that he started back in 1975, and focused more heavily on his equally mammoth charitable foundation—with an endowment now nearly reaching $39 billion, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has distributed over $16 billion in grants since 2000.

Because the talk is limited to Computer Sciences and Computer Engineering students and faculty only, they'll be webcasting the lecture here (realmedia).
