There was a small crowd of protesters in downtown San Antonio yesterday as well..
For two years, I worked at the coffee shop next door. One of my coworkers put up a small display of literature questioning Scientology, near all other posters and stuff on our flier boards. It was up for about a day before one of the Hubbard trench coats swept in and tore it all out.
They were pretty okay people as regular customers. But then, I guess their 'church' can say the same thing.
Are they going after the Jews next? This is the same mentality that lead to deaths of so many Branch Davidians in Waco.

Well, if the Scientologists are illegally stockpiling weapons and forcibly marrying and impregnating 12 year old girls in there like the Branch Davidians were, maybe we should "go after them." But as it stands, neither the Scientologists nor the Jews seem to be doing that.
Ever heard of freedom of religion? Ever heard of tolerance? It's a lot of fun to make fun of people. I remember when people openly made fun of gays and blacks. They had a lot of fun. Seems to me that is what these kids were doing. I don't see what good comes of it.

Was it justified for the FBI to investigate evidence that the Branch Davidians were illegally stockpiling weapons and committing statutory rape? Yep. Just the same as if you and I were doing so. Your religion doesn't grant you the freedom to do those things.
Was it justified for David Koresh to respond by instigating an armed standoff, and ultimately shooting his followers and trapping them and their children in the building as he set it on fire? No. Your religion doesn't grant you the right to do those things either.
The ATF had no business there in the first place. If illegal guns are such a concern, then why didn't they raid the Crips and Bloods in L.A? Instead they raid a harmless bunch of kooks near Waco. Something is fishy there. It doesn't take helicopters and SWAT teams to investigate those allegations. Sending one cop and knocking on the door would have done it.

So based on the Jonestown experience, any reports of suspicious behavior from a religious group should be met with multiple helicopter gunships, tanks fitted with poison gas and SWAT teams? Is that your point?
