Music Mondays Presents: You're Looking at Country

This week’s installment of Music Mondays at the Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz is all country, all the way. You’re Looking at Country, a film that shares the name of a Loretta Lynn song, is a look back on that golden age of country and western music when George Jones, Johnny Cash, and their ilk ruled the airwaves and parlayed their fame into television spots and even shows. Dolly Parton, one of SXSW’s most anticipated performers, also makes appearances in the film, as does Lynn and many, many more.

As a special bonus, You’re Looking at Country will be narrated live by Dallas Wayne, a true believer in country music whose devotion to the genre - either through his own songwriting, scholarship, or years of DJing radio shows devoted to Outlaw Country and beyond – make him the perfect guest for this screening. After the film, Wayne will play a set of songs to conclude the evening. And if that ain’t country, we’ll kiss your ass.

Dolly Parton canceled her appearance, unfortunately. Sucks for anyone who was looking forward to seeing her.
