Extra Extra: And the Winner Is. . .
- We're hoping for Soledad O'Brien as moderator: Obama and Hillary to appear next Thursday the 21st in CNN/Univision-sponsored debate in Austin.
- Bloggers can moderate debates, too: Eileen Smith from In the Pink Texas (and Texas Monthly) and Karen Brooks from the DMN will moderate the Democratic Senate debate between candidates Noriega and McMurrey in Austin this Wednesday, Feb. 13.
- 4 men arrested for the kidnapping last week of Adrian Jaimes; one of them is his father's cousin.
- 911 operator who told Zuleima Jaimes to "quit crying" during her call about her brother's kidnapping has retired.
- Good luck figuring out Texas' delegate system.
- Complaint lodged against Texas Speaker Craddick says that he tried to buy support for his upcoming re-election as Speaker.
- Texas voted and the (unofficial) winner is: a very 80's-tastic license plate.

God that license plate is awful. It must appeal to the same folks that like the "This is our Country" texas truck commercials. Can't you just picture a giant diesel truck in the background of the plate?
Just as long as Leo Buscaglia and Punky Brewster are in the front seat, wearing unicorn sweaters and listening to Art of Noise and talking about how 'radical' Corey Haim is.
Out of all the choices, that was my least favorite. Maybe they chose the ungliest one intentionally so that more people would purchase one of the other special plates to increase revenue.
How EXACTLY is it 80's-tastic?
kingkirby - I get the 80's vibe from the squiggles in the top left corner. Those added to the faint colors in the background make the license plate seem more like a Trapper Keeper I had in elementary school.
It's totally bodacious.
