Today is the day when high school football players from across the nation can sign formal letters of intent to particular schools and accept scholarship offers. And although there's probably way too much analysis put into the whims of 18-year-old kids, maintaining a steady stream of talent into your program is essential. After all, it was on this day in 2002 when Texas signed a Houston high schooler by the name of Vince Young.
Longhorn coach Mack Brown has earned the reputation as a masterful recruiter, and he's expected to pull in another top class this time around. Brown will review the day's signees in a news conference later this afternoon.
Texas has already received verbal commitments from several players, but the Longhorns missed out on the nation's top running back when Darrell Scott chose Colorado over Texas, announcing his decision today on national television on ESPNU.
You can follow the signing-day action (and add your opinions) on the messages boards at Longhorn fan sites like HornFans.com and InsideTexas.com.

Scott chose Colorado, but that won't really hurt the Longhorns, because:
a) Colorado sucks, &
b) we already have like 7 or 8 good RBs.
