Our Indieroke night returns this Tuesday to The Mohawk. What started out as a one-off fling with rock stardom has turned into a monthly gathering of like-minded folks craving that fleeting moment of exhilaration. If you haven’t made it to one yet, we strongly recommend getting there in a timely fashion to get your name and song on the list early…and often. (You know who you are!) We will have multiple song list books going forward to ease that pain.

The prior two Indieroke events have included wonderful renditions of songs originally done by acts such as Interpol, The Arcade Fire (often!), The Flaming Lips, Pulp, Joy Division (need more!), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (sexy time), O.M.D., and Weezer. We’ve had the odd crooner bust out some Jeff Buckley, The Magnetic Fields and Lou Reed ditties as well, while some have settled for the safety of bands like Fleetwood Mac (“Go Your Own Way” shall end every one of these nights in due time, we are guessing!) and Journey (very often!) And then there are the random “Kiss From A Rose”, “Livin’ la Vida Loca”, and “The Safety Dance” efforts we’ve grown to admire.

Who will you aspire to be when you get up on that famous Mohawk stage? Come on down, have a few drinks, and find out for yourself! You never know who’s what’s lurking beneath your conscious soul.

UPDATE! -- New additions to our collection -- "Intervention" (The Arcade Fire), "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?" (The Beatles), "Boys Don't Cry" (The Cure), "Soul Meets Body" (Death Cab For Cutie), "Bandages" (Hot Hot Heat), "Run To The Hills" (Iron Maiden), "Jesus Walks" (Kanye West), "When You Were Young" (The Killers), "Teardrop" (Massive Attack), "Optimistic" (Radiohead), "Circles" (Soul Coughing), & "Hardest Button To Button" (The White Stripes).
