Austinist Show Preview: The Plutonium Farmers, more presented by The Church of the Friendly Ghost

The Church of the Friendly Ghost is only scheduling two events this month, to make room for the No Idea Fest which starts on the 14th and goes through the 16th. But quality always makes up for quantity. The first of February’s Salvage Vanguard shows plans to be a doozy, with four acts starting at 9 p.m.

The Plutonium Farmers, with their two-drummer/one guitarist assault are sure to raise some eyebrows, and The Tommy Hall Schedule have a special set planned of 13th Floor Elevators songs. Psychedelic light show included in admission charge!

Noise-monger and Carlos G. Villarreal (you may know him as Quebron or as half of One Umbrella) is also playing a set, as is former Purchase New York member and solo artist Loren Dent, whose latest minimalist/ambient recordings were released this past March as Empires and Milk. Soothing sounds, but not passive listening, either.

This will be the last Church of the Friendly Ghost night until the 23rd of this month, an event which will also serve as a benefit for KOOP radio.
