Those of you lucky enough to have the day off tomorrow (and who, like us, missed out on this weekend's various MLK-day volunteer efforts around town) might consider helping out with a cleanup project at Smith Creek. The seasonal waterway, which feeds into Boggy Creek, is in sore need of some TLC. There's also free breakfast tacos to be had for early bird volunteers.

From the event coordinators:

The 4-H Capital Americorps Project has decided to do a creek clean-up in the seasonal creek that runs parallel to Smith Rd. This creek feeds into Boggy Creek and is some serious need of attention. This project is aimed at reducing potential mosquito populations, facilitating water flow into Boggy Creek, and cleaning any trash or pollution that may be found in the area. Several other Smith Creek neighbor businesses have joined forces with the 4-H Capital Americorps Project. All volunteers are encouraged to come out and take part in this MLK day of service! Light breakfast refreshments will be provided. (tacos!)
