Austinist Presents: IndieRoke! Tonight!

Austinist Present IndieRoke
Wednesday, January 9th
The Mohawk (912 Red River)
9pm-2am, free
[info]
So on the way home from work last Saturday, coming down from a spirited iPod sing-along to "Paranoid Android," you realized that you have the exact same range as Thom Yorke! You can hit those high notes and everything! You are awesome.

But you aren't going to keep that all to yourself, are you? Don't be selfish, the second-ever Austinist IndieRoke goes down tonight at the Mohawk!

We'll have all the classic karaoke fall-backs--Sinatra, Elvis, Fleetwood--but on top of that, you get tasteful modern tunes that no inebriated 40-something divorcee has ever been able to properly interpret in public. Arcade Fire, Death Cab For Cutie, Pulp, and, um, Led Zeppelin all made showings last time, and the song list is literally 90 pages long so don't let any stylistic boundaries dissuade you.

No cover, all songs free. Did we mention that it's $1 whiskey night at the Mohawk? Fill up on liquid courage and pick a song, or just soak up the performances by yourself with a cool class of shelf booze from the comfort of the couch, we don't mind your eye-rolling.

You officially have no excuses.
