Austinist Show Preview: Free Week Day 3 @ Emo's

Emo’s Free Week bites back tonight with a smorgasbord of sounds from a variety of acts. Lions draw blood on the outside arena with chant-along chorus’ and scorching guitars. Their 2007 release No Generation allowed the band to voice their political views as well as display their rock n’ roll chops, and their live shows aptly roar with energy and fervor. Lions’ “Heavy Metal Lady” currently encourages the masses in homes everywhere to “unleash your inner rock legend” via Guitar Hero III and you can do the same at Emo's tonight!

Support on the outside stage comes in the shape of psychedelic samplings from A Few Nice Things and The Strange Attractors while Clarke Wilson kicks things off with his new project Alright Tonight. Brothers And Sisters make an appearance as well, previewing new material off their forthcoming release set for Spring 2008. Listen to a new number, “You’re Gone” on their MySpace page.

Wilson’s Those Peabodys, meanwhile, finally have word out regarding their long-waited third album. The record is set for an early 2008 release on Little Mafia Records and will feature the band’s classic-rock-meets-garage-rock mayhem, we hope. The Ugly Beats, Black Joe Lewis, and Transmography join Those Peabodys inside at Emo's tonight.

Lastly, Emo’s Lounge hosts The Hex Dispensers, The Ape Shits, The Teeners, Party Garbage, and Scrabble Robot tonight.
