Future Clouds and Radar? Austinist Forecasts an Awesome Show

Tomorrow night at Stubb's, two bands will be on their best behavior, seeing many of us out to our respective destinations for the holidays in what might be our last show until - gasp - late next week! Come get a live music fix before making nice with random relatives over deviled eggs and cider in your Mee-Maw's living room. You'll want to equip your noggin with some infectious tunes to hum before you subject yourself to the familio-political rigors of the holiday season.

Robert Harrison, once lead signer of Austin's early '90s breakout Cotton Mather, busts out dense, deft pop like Popes issue edicts with his newest project Future Clouds and Radar. With publications like Paste gushing over the 27 tracks on their audacious, eponymous debut, FC&R are on the bullet train to full-on mainstream recognition, and Austin's musical reputation will be all the better for it. Eschewing the self-conscious gimmickry of recent Austin offerings, FC&R is the real deal, making music - and lot's of it - that proudly wears the artists' love on it's Sargent Pepper sleeves. Openers Lalaland are la-la-local as well, a "power rock trio" with a gigantic sound that belies their limited ranks. Cruise on over to their Myspace page and check out "Phase Out" for your daily hook fix. Follow the jump for a chance to win tickets!
