The 6th Annual Indie Music Video Festival Tonight at Alamo Drafthouse

The 6th annual Indie Music Video Festival rolls into town tonight at the downtown Alamo Drafthouse. As per the IMVF Directors: “Indie music videos have come a long way in the past 35 years and finally there is the IMVF (Indie Music Video Festival) to celebrate them. IMVF's plan is to bring together the creators, writers, d.o.p's, editors, effects artists and producers enabling them to meet and network. IMVF plans to offer workshops on subjects such as editing systems, camera systems, lighting, writing, producing, production management, directing, emerging technology and distribution.

Previously, videos by acts such as Neko Case, Bright Eyes, and We Are Wolves have been honored by IMVF, and this year two Austin bands join the list. “Curse of the Midnight Idol” by Beta Valentine (directed by J. Conway of pushingnormal) and “Music Is Happiness” by The Octopus Project (directed by Nick Smith) represent our city’s talent tonight, so come on down and show you support, all for a measly two bucks. The two videos can be viewed after the jump, while a full list of the selected 2007 videos can be found on the IMVF website.

Tonight’s event will also feature a performance by Beta Valentine.
