Short Story Contest for Austin Writers
If you’re an aspiring writer, you might want to find some time between holiday parties this weekend to brush up your best short story. The Austin Chronicle’s sixteenth annual Short Story Contest closes on Monday. Winners split $1,500 and get published.
Winners are typically decided by all-stars from the local literary community. Based on this year’s logo, we’re assuming that judges include Vladimir Lenin and/or the omnipotent deity Zeus. Or maybe it’s just a way of letting you know that your voice is powerful… which it can be. This contest has a long history of rewarding emerging local talent.
Contest rules and regulations here. One thing to keep in mind: stories must be pretty short, under 2500 words.
