Clemens Named in Baseball Steroid Report

Former Longhorn standout Roger Clemens was among the players named Thursday in an investigative report into steroid use in professional baseball.

The report, which put the blame on both players and management for the drug problem throughout the game, was released by former U.S. Senator George Mitchell after 20 months of study.

Clemens played at the University of Texas in the 1982 and 1983 seasons and has been one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball for 20 years. He is a seven-time Cy Young Award winner and 11-time All-Star.

Brian McNamee, who worked as a personal trainer for Clemens and other players, told investigators that in 1998, when Clemens was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays, the pitcher asked McNamee to inject him with Winstrol, the brand name for the anabolic steroid stanozolol.

McNamee also said he injected Clemens with testosterone and human growth hormone in 2000, and with additional drugs in 2001 when Clemens was a member of the New York Yankees.

Mitchell's entire report can be downloaded here as a .pdf file.

I'm glad that f*ckin' prick got caught. Fellow Texans, now's your chance to let all the pent-up hate out. Step One: Admit he's always been a f*ckin' prick . . . Step Two: Let it all flow . . .

  • This blog seems to get a good ammount of visitors. How do you promote it? It offers a nice unique twist on things. I guess having something useful or substantial to talk about is the most important thing.

Roger Clemens has hired attorney to fight the charges? Go F yourself Rocket, you sorry self-righteous jargoff! And baseball players on steroids? OMG! What's next? Football players? Wrestlers?

This is huge, since Longhorn Roger is such a big media darling. We'll see if they (e.g. ESPN) are as hard on him as they have been on Bonds. (And I'm no BB fan.)
