Being that we live in a heat belt where it is not uncommon to see kids raking leaves in tank tops and jorts on Christmas Day (seriously, we've done it...well, not the jorts part), dreaming of a white Christmas is something that we are intimately familiar with. Wishing that by some stretch of magical meteorology our lawns will be covered in billowy, sparkling, frozen precip is a beloved holiday past time, which explains why we are so fracking excited about getting to see one of our favorite holiday-kitschfests on the big, beautiful screen as The Paramount presents the Bing Crosby/Irving Berlin heart warmer White Christmas.

There is certainly a lot of debate about what the best holiday movie of all time is, (we are personally married to A Christmas Story and Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas), but as far as Christmas songs go, for our money it doesn't get any better than hearing White Christmas in the inimitable Crosby croon. Now throw that into a simmering pot over a toasty fire with some other campy variety show-esque song-and-dance numbers starring Danny Kaye, "sisters" Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, a bed and breakfast in Vermont (Vermont!) that needs to be saved from certain destruction and a little love sprinkled amongst the tinsel and what you end up with is a hot cocoa mug full of Christmas cheer! Not to mention that it inspired the rant-filled lunacy of another holiday true believer, Clark W. Griswold, as he proclaimed, "We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny f-ing Kaye." Classic.
