Preview: Ready Steady Go at Rio Rita
This Friday, get ready to get retro. Ready Steady Go is coming to Rio Rita, and East Sixth Street is about to get walloped with the sort of danceable goodness that only five, yes five DJs can produce. Moving from their residency at Beerland, Ready Steady Go collaborators Mike Hooker and Shorty Stump will be spinning their vinyl gems alongside guests The Lollipop Shoppe from Dallas, and Scotty Upton all the way from Florida.
The organizers of Ready Steady Go promise a night of hip but unpretentious fun with tunes spun from genres including “garage, psych, powerpop, and bubblegum, with the addition of glam surf, punk, soul” and much more. Joining the DJs will be the Ready Steady Go-Go Girls doing their danceable best to get the crowd moving. Mod apparel is very encouraged!
