The Longhorn volleyball team carries a 20-match win streak into the opening round of NCAA tournament play tonight against Texas State at 6:30 pm at Gregory Gym. Texas (24-3) is ranked third in the country and is the top seed in their region of the tournament.

The Longhorns are led by five first-team all-conference players -- Juliann Faucette, Ashley Engle, Destinee Hooker, Michelle Moriarty and Lauren Paolini -- as well as Big 12 Coach of the Year Jerritt Elliott.

LSU and New Mexico State play their first-round match at Gregory Gym at 4:30 pm, with the winner playing the winner of the Texas-Texas State match at 6:30 pm Saturday. Both single-day and all-session tickets are available at TexasBoxOffice.com.

In other Longhorn sports news, the men's and women's swimming and diving teams are taking part in the Texas Invitational at the Texas Swimming Center. The event opened Thursday and runs through Saturday. And on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm, the 24th-ranked Texas women's basketball team hosts Sam Houston State at the Erwin Center. Longhorns coach Gail Goestenkors picked up her 400th career victory earlier this week.
