Austinist Giveaway: Soundcheck Magazine Winter Showcase

If you haven't had the pleasure of perusing an issue yet, Soundcheck Magazine is a local monthly that covers music exclusively. With an eye towards supporting local writers, artists, and designers they actively recruit around town for staff and freelancers, so be sure and check in with them if you're interested in helping out. To show their appreciation for the support they've received, they're hosting a shindig tomorrow evening at Emo's Lounge featuring three great artists. Austinist is supporting the event as a sponsor, and is proud to be aligned with the good people over at Soundcheck.

Local oddballs Moth!Fight! bring the power pastiche as headliners, giving you a chance to check them out if you are unfamiliar with the peculiar beauty of their music. Be sure and pick up their Hopscotch 7" that they put out this year before you stumble out into an awaiting taxi. Rags-to-indie-rock-riches story Micah P. Hinson supports with resonant twangy vocals over the spritely rootsiness of his Americana. Austin dream-rockers The Soldier Thread will interject with their emotional atmospherics, balancing out what is destined to be a cozy, fulfilling, and ultimately horizon-expanding evening.
