Austinist Show Giveaway: Electric Six at Emo's

After moseying around in the Motor City in the late 90’s as The Wildbunch, Detroit’s dance-rock outfit Electric Six released their breakthrough single “Danger! High Voltage” in 2001 under their current moniker. The song initially received rave reviews in the U.K. and also garnered additional allure, with the band neither denying nor confirming that a certain Jack White assisted on the vocals on the track. Stateside, the band burst onto the radar in 2003 with their debut record, Fire which featured (a re-release of) “Danger! High Voltage” and a second hit, “Gay Bar.” Since then, the band has released three full-lengths, including this year’s I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master. Check out the video for their cover of Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga” (off 2005’s Señor Smoke) on YouTube.
