First of all, let's not get started on the whole hipster douchebag/douchebag issue again - there's been quite enough of that. In any case, I thought it was pretty clear that I was being sarcastic about that being the larger issue of the discussion because I hate that AA maintains that bullshit facade. Anyway, there was a time when I did feel like it would suck for frat boys and other such ilk to appropriate hip clothes. But to be honest, I don't give a damn anymore. There will always be something new to replace that which has been made lame by the masses. And of course that's good, because otherwise nothing would change, and we'd all be dressed like cowboys since we live in Texas.

I don't understand what people are upset about. What would you rather have in that space rather than an American Apparel? Another Gap? Something has to occupy that space. I can think of a lot worse companies than American Apparel. They are just selling clothes for god's sake. For those who have issue with this, please tell me what you would choose to put there. It seems to me, that whatever moves into Austin, good or bad, some lame-o is gonna wet himself over it. And why can't frat boys wear these clothes? I like polo shirts and American Apparel shirts, what's the problem? Reynard, you call this the larger issue. Frat boys wearing deep v's is larger an issue than LA sweatshops? LordEric, there are definitely sweatshops in L.A. Maybe they're not as bad as Malaysia or Vietnam but they're still sweatshops nonethess. Also, Factory People very much still exists, just as this website, in the land of Narwhals (the interweb), altough they no longer have DJs or skinny jeans. But really, the larger issue here is that the deep V will soon replace the polo as the shirt of choice for UT frat boys, and that will be a very rediculous day indeed.
