Football Preview: Texas vs. Texas Tech
Time: 2:30 pm, Saturday, Nov. 10
Location: Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium

Critics complained early in the season that the Texas Longhorns had no "identity". Were they a passing team that threw it all over the field? A run-first team that ground you into the dirt? A blitzing, hard-hitting defense?
Over the last two games, the Longhorns' real identity has emerged. They're a resilient bunch who never consider themselves out of the game. Coming back from a 17-3 deficit against Nebraska and a 35-14 deficit against Oklahoma State for a pair of wins, Texas has been like a horror-movie villain: they start slow, finish strong, are not always pretty, and are never dead.
On Saturday, the Longhorns go for their fifth win in a row against Texas Tech, who might be the doomed hero of the horror movie. The Red Raiders are flashy, with the nation's top offense (549.5 yards per game) and the leading quarterback (Graham Harrell) and receiver (Michael Crabtree) in the country. Tech, however, has lost four games in a row to Texas, and the Longhorns have averaged 45 points in each of those wins.
Game Notes
Senior Day: The Longhorns will honor senior players, support personnel, and their parents in their annual Senior Day pregame ceremonies. This group of seniors has compiled a 42-6 record over the past four years, with three bowl victories and a national championship in 2005.
Into the Hall: Former Longhorn defensive back Johnnie Johnson will receive on-field recognition for his upcoming induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. Johnson, a two-time all-American defensive back who played at Texas from 1976-79, becomes the 14th Longhorn player named to the Hall. Two Texas coaches, Dana X. Bible and Darrell Royal, are also in the Hall of Fame. Texas also is inducting three former players into the Longhorn Hall of Honor: quarterback Randy McEachern, running back Priest Holmes, and end Charlie Talbert.
Longhorn Injuries: The Longhorn defense, which is expected to be under fire from Tech's passing attack, won't be at full strength. Defensive end Eddie Jones (shoulder) and reserve safety Drew Kelson (knee) are both out. Linebacker Jared Norton (shoulder) is listed as questionable, while fellow linebacker Sergio Kindle, who missed last week's game with a shoulder injury, is listed as probable.
Opponents to Watch: Texas Tech's high-powered offense has boosted two players to the top of the national rankings. Quarterback Graham Harrell leads the nation in passing with 4,412 yards and 38 touchdowns, while freshman wide receiver Michael Crabtree leads the nation in receiving yards (1,512), receptions per game (10.4) and touchdowns (18).
Bailey Wins Player of the Week: Kicker Ryan Bailey was selected as the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week after his game-winning kick against Oklahoma State. Bailey also won the award the previous week after he kicked three field goals in Texas' win over Nebraska. The honor is the fifth this season for Texas following the two by Brandon Foster and running back Jamaal Charles' Offensive Player of the Week award last week.
