Nevertheless, there are two nifty events remaining that you should know about:
Keynote Lecture: "Iraq, Al Qaeda, and the Future of Israel" with Jeffrey Goldberg and Lawrence Wright

New Yorker correspondent Jeffrey Goldberg, author of Prisoners: A Muslim and A Jew Across the Middle East Divide, is considered an expert on the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. He's spent time reporting in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, Iraq, the Gaza Strip, and Upper Egypt; you may have seen or heard him on PBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or NPR.
Austinite and fellow New Yorker staffer Lawrence Wright, as you may recall, was awarded the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in general non-fiction for his riveting exploration of the 9/11 attacks, The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11.
From the Jewish Book Fair website: "They will discuss the intricacies of policies both domestic and in the Middle East as we learn and think about America's and Israel's positions in the world. Dessert will be served by the Israeli Book Club."
Austin Graphics and Comics Night with Paul Benjamin and Terry and Patty LaBan

On the lighter side of things, Thursday night's free event at Barnes & Noble Westlake will highlight recent works by two groups of graphic artists. Paul Benjamin has worked on everything from "Tokyopop manga" (Pantheon High) to American comics (Marvel Adventures Hulk), and produced video games for Austin-based Amaze Entertainment. He'll be joined by husband and wife duo Terry and Patty LaBan, whose nationally-syndicated comic strip, Edge City, chronicles the adventures of a "hip Jewish-American family" as the balance their careers and relationships while trying to stay true to tradition.
