CASA of Travis County is looking for a few good men. Facing an unfortunate shortage of male volunteers to match up with a growing number of boys in need, they'd like to present their case over a pint or two and complimentary snacks tonight at The Dog and Duck Pub.

A brief primer if you're not familiar with CASA's work: according to their website, "they recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteers to provide 'guardian ad litem' representation for abused and neglected children to help them reach a safe and permanent home." Here at Austinist, we know a lot of great folks who both work within and volunteer with the organization and have witnessed first-hand how indispensable their services are to the fabric of our community. At any rate, this staffer will be out there.

If you're looking for a way to help out and make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable citizens, please make it out tonight to hear more. A tasty pint - free, no less - after a long day is the least you have to gain for your troubles.
