Extra Extra
- Austin City Council is pretty much ready to sign a contract setting up red-light cameras at 15 intersections (to start with).
- Big Brother - er, APD - is watching your energy usage. And Austin Energy is cool with that!
- Southeast Austin standoff this morning ends with cop shooting the suspect.
- Round Rock police on the lookout for a suspected stalker.
- Local company under Neil Bush (Dubya's bro) is being investigated for possible inappropriate spending of federal funds.
- Harris County set to receive $20 million of federal funds for helping evacuees from Katrina and Rita.
- Two of Pancho Villa's guns are coming up for auction.

Great...red light cameras. Let's make it even easier for APD to write tickets!
if you can't stop at red lights you deserve a ticket....
I'm still trying to figure out who let's Neil Bush have run a company. Also, who would buy anything from him.
Are you kidding? They probably line up to deal with him. Probably for the same reason he's now being looked into: easy access to fed money.
