Austinites Step It Up For Climate Action

Tomorrow, November 3rd, the Step It Up Campaign gathers once again to see which of our politicians are stepping up and taking action about global warming. Following up on the first event back in April, the campaign unites ordinary folks concerned about global warming and demanding action from the candidates of 2008 to take bold steps on climate change.

Millions will be gathering across the country to address representatives on three key priorities to stop global warming including:

1. Green Jobs Now - 5 million green jobs conserving 20% of our energy by 2015
2. Cut Carbon 80% By 2050 - Freeze climate pollution levels now and cut at lest 80% by 2050 and 30% by 2020
3. No New Coal - A Moratorium on new coal-fired powered plants

So join your local Austinites on Saturday at the Capitol steps along with millions nation wide to advocate for climate action.
