Help the SoCal Wildfire Relief Efforts

satellitefire.jpgIn case you’ve been holed up in your apartment/home/condo with no electricity for the past few days, we’re sad to tell you that Southern California is currently being devoured by raging wildfires, and there are no signs of the fires stopping. CNN is updating like, every 2.3 minutes, and it’s one of the most devastating things we’ve ever seen. Times like these, it feels like there’s not much you can do but sit and refresh your browser over and over.

But you can do something. For example, you can donate to the American Red Cross’s California Wildfire Relief Efforts. It’s easy to do, and man, do they need your support right now. So if you can’t go to SoCal yourself, please chip in and help a fantastic organization provide relief to the hundreds of thousands of people (and counting) whose homes and communities have been destroyed.

We at Austinist are asking you, dear readers, and our friends all over the –Ist network to make a donation TODAY. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by these fires. Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to donate today. Spread the word.
