AFF Wraps Up Tonight!

After a fantastic week of panels, parties and screenings, the Austin Film Festival will wrap up tonight with a screening of Sidney Lumet's highly anticipated Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Lumet (the man behind films like Running on Empty, Serpico, and one of our favorite movies ever, Dog Day Afternoon) directs an unbelievably great cast including Albert Finney, Ethan Hawke, Marisa Tomei and Philip Seymour Hoffman in this caper-gone-wrong thriller. We haven't had the chance to see it yet, but early word is that it's a must-see, and Chris Garcia over at The Statesman called it "bleak and brilliant".

If that doesn't fit into your schedule, you could head over to the Bob Bullock Theater at 9:30 to catch James C. Strouse's drama Grace is Gone, which we told you about last week. Or, you could use this opportunity to catch some films you missed earlier in the week, like Blood Car (which we're dying to see), America Unchained (great idea for a doc), or First Saturday in May (currently the highest B-Side rated film of the festival).

Point being, you should get out there and see some films tonight. And if you've got a Producers Badge, head over to Rio Grande Restaurant afterward for the festival's closing party, where we're likely to talk your ear off about how awesome The Diving Bell and the Butterfly was.
