Austin Business Journal is reporting today that the Clarksville Contruction delays are based upon a dispute/lawsuit between the developer and the construction team.

Kenneth1 - Sorry for the confusing photo choice. In my Extra Extra posts I tend to choose photos that are somewhat relevant, but mostly for their overall look (I'm also limited to what photos are available through Creative Commons). So no, I didn't mean to suggest that the construction portrayed in the photo was of one the condo projects discussed in the news piece; I just think it is a great shot. Thanks for your clarification!

Magnolia and The View were trying to secure financing. Declaring that you are building, creating renderings and floor plans and building a website are all part of the dance that goes on to secure a construction loan. Not all of the projects announced in any market (good or bad) will come to fruition.

The funniest part is the headline. None of these three projects are in Downtown Austin!?

Oh well, it got ME to click on it too! Advertising revenue must be more important than accurate reporting...

Your headline & photo are misleading. None of the projects mentioned in the article are "downtown." They're all on S. Lamar or in Clarksville.

Also, that project pictured (Spring, I think) is still going strong.

I guess we're not all going to be able to buy up excess central city condos for $50k after the crash.

That's odd about the Magnolia shutting down. That location was pretty good, and the prices weren't crazy. You'd figure you could sell it just on the ability to walk across the street to the Alamo.
