Austin received an A grade on our traffic signals.- The City Council couldn't really satisfy either side in the TLAC debate.
- The White Rose Society at UT wants the school to divest from companies that work in Sudan.
- Two area (Hutto and Liberty Hill) school district superintendents picked up some of their credentials from "diploma mills". Fishy!
- Man drops his blood-covered child off at Ft. Worth church this afternoon; he's now involved in a police standoff in Arlington.
- Your lipstick may contain trace amounts of lead.
- Road closures for downtown events this weekend.

Austin traffic signals are horrible, I've called them to talk about it at the city and they just swear up and down that ours are the best. This is while we are all waiting at a red for non-existent cars to pass. Call your council members!
Agreed. The great Austin pastime is waiting at a light while there's no traffic going the other way. That and reading spanktimonious editorials by Lewis Black. (Oh, if we could trade our Lewis Black for Jon Stewart's Lewis Black!)
Yeah, i want all lights to turn green on my arrival. AND no more waiting in line, anywhere. Period. It's about time the rest of the world understood what's really important--ME!
I guess the city has decided that they aren't going to try to pass yet another "sync the lights" bond.
The synchronized lights downtown are great when they work. The problem is, they only seem to be synchronized during morning and evening rush hour. At other times they just go wonky.
Also, anyone who has ever tried to drive east/west on 2222 knows the pain of sitting for a few minutes when few/no cars pass on their endless green light.
