The Statesman is reporting that a gunman walked into a business in North Austin this afternoon and began shooting. The Travis County/Austin STARFlight Rescue team has been deployed.
The incident happened at the 13500 block of US-183, near Anderson Mill Road.
Update 1: The shooting occurred at a car dealership service center. The gunman reportedly shot himself after leaving the building.
Update 2: The gunman, an ex-employee of the service center, attempted to shoot the store manager, who fled through the parking lot. The man later shot himself in the head by the time police had arrived. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. No one else was injured or killed.
Coincidentally, just across the highway and within walking distance is Heritage Firearms.

The statesman article (now) doesn't insinuate that it was a "shooting" per se-- says guy asked to see the manager, then went behind the building and shot himself.
I always chuckle at that
"GUNS" store. Right next to a liquor store, too. Great combo.
#2, I've always thought Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a law enforcement agency.
t'was a shooting, Benj. The guy was a former employee. Full story up on statesman.com now.

With just a flintlock and a hound
You won't go home with a bunting
If you blow a hundred rounds
