Austinist Named Best Local "Fun" Web Site in Austin Chronicle's Readers' Poll
Hey, thanks Austin!
We're thrilled that you chose us as your 2007 Best of Austin pick for Local "Fun" Web Site. Needless to say, it's a tremendous honor to be recognized two years in a row (last year, we tied with the Chronicle itself for Best Local Entertainment Web Site). We solemnly swear that we'll continue to entertain and, on those lucky occasions, enlighten you with the best in Austin culture and news.

when i read this i felt *completely* shocked.
in the comments section this week, i made the mistake of using the word "douchebaggery".
now, at the time, i thought, ah ha ha, how clever!
but now i see what i fool i've been, since the word that bespeaks real literary sophistication is "douchebaggotry". harumph.
oddly, douchebaggery is the word that has been in play for a ~couple of years now - 'baggotry; that's the first I've seen it spelled that way.
No, "douchebagotry" has been tossed around the internet more times than "your mom". Sorry your and the Chronicle are so late to the party.
Oh no. I was thinking of "douchebaggery" which I first heard on the Adult Swim message boards in about 2003 or 4.
