Bubblegum Fun and Shoe Shines at Birds Barbershop

Just when we thought Birds Barbershop couldn’t get any more creative, they give us two more awesome reasons to walk in and rock out.

Starting today, the Burnet location is hosting “Bubblegum Humpday Happy Hours” every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. DJ Super K is breaking in the turntables with his collection of bubblegum and saccharine-sweet pop 45s from the 60s. Even if you're not getting your hair cut, shake your tail-feather and sample bubblegum soda from the tap.

And now there's complimentary shoe-shines! Are your oxfords looking scuffy? Wear them to Birds and let Ricky D and Son Courtesy buff them old-school style. These guys (decked out in newsboy caps) have 22 years of experience in the business, to boot. Shines are available at both locations once a week: Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 2110 S. Lamar Blvd., and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays at the 6800 Burnet Rd.
