TONIGHT: Tri-City Deck Wreckage at the Beauty Bar!

Learning Secrets, the eclectic electro-family responsible for Thursday nights at Whisky Bar, will be tearing up the Beauty Bar tonight with Philly's dave p and Brooklyn's JDH, along with Austin's own Ian Orth. Indie remixes, 75 degree October nights, and open-minded dancefloor antics for only $3 at the door? That only happens in Austin, people. For real.

Nobody is impressed that the Austinist is becoming a non stop advertising medium for Beauty Bar. If you guys can't find anything interesting going on around town, and can't get anyone to write anything interesting, then just don't post anything. Beauty Bar isn't the end all solution to boredom in Austin...

This past week we covered shows at La Zona Rosa, Stubb's, Emo's, The Mohawk, Cap City Comedy Club, Salvage Vanguard Theater, End of an Ear, Marfa (!!!), Room 710 and more. There's plenty of interesting stuff going on around town (see our Weekly IST List for a few dozen examples), and this happened to be one of them -- even if it (clearly) wasn't your particular cup of tea.

In September, we mentioned Beauty Bar four times, two of which were merely in passing. If there's anything that we're a nonstop advertising medium for, it's Truecraig's big juicy memoir, I Am An Idiot (But There's Nothing Wrong With You).

Room 710 was mentioned once last week, and that was more so for the HAAM benefit than the music on stage. Dare I say that Room 710 has been mentioned less than 4 times over the past 4 months that we have been sending you PR and emails and inviting your writers down to see the shows (for free) and have some drinks (on us).

That's Room 710. 710 Red River St. Austin's favorite local live music venue adjacent to Crack Alley. Where we are proud to be loud.

actually this article was more of a plug for learning secrets than beauty bar.

annnnd...if you're bored in austin, that's totally your own fault.

:)

Do we all get the picture of the cute fuzzy panda now? I hope so. It makes douchey comments so much more, you know, soft and fuzzy.

I'll come drink for free at 710. Although it'll be hard to write about the Mohawk from that far down the street.

:-(

I'll be happy to take your free drinks if you're going to be assholes about it.

ohhhh look... it was sponsored by FactoryPeople as well (cue apopoletic sputtering...).

you mean the b-b-b-b-b-b-booty bar?

Oh it does have a Factory People logo. I just didn't notice it.
