Toasting Single-Branch Family Trees Once More
Just in time for Saturday's big game, the UT alumni behind Independence Brewing Co. have decided to bring back their special pro-Longhorn beer.
Last year's "Oklahoma Suks" was such a hit that the local brewery opted to increase production for the second annual run — over four times the amount of last year's batch hit stores last week. Despite this, they still anticipate that the limited-run brew will sell out.
"When we first released Oklahoma Suks Beer in 2006, we thought it would be an inside joke for local Longhorn fans. But word of the beer spread quickly on the Web, and we were contacted by Longhorn fans from all over the country," said Amy Cartwright, president of Independence Brewing Co. "Despite any controversies or criticisms we may have triggered with the beer, we decided to release Oklahoma Suks Beer again because it is our own unique way as alumni and Austin brewers that we can add to the fun and craziness of the Red River Rivalry.
"What can we say? We bleed burnt orange and wanted to brew a beer to prove it."
Get it while it lasts at Whole Foods, Central Market, and various liquor stores around town. Last we checked, the Whip-In had it for $18.99 for a 12-pack.

While the beer is good, I'm not sure I'd be putting it out there this year. UT is about to get humiliated and ousted from the top 25 after this coming weekend.
Boomer Sooner!!
Too bad the Longhorns' offense sucks. They should discount this cerveza- half price. We're going to need it.
prefer beer to marketing
More evidence that football is for morons.
Yes, UT's offense is sorrific, and yes the Horns will probably get pwned on Saturday. But when it's all said & done, Yoklehoma (or Mobilehoma) will still suck.
I'm way to cool for sports. I read poetry and listen to alternative music and anyone else is stupid. I have to get to the Mohawk asap. So screw the fooseball.
