Austinist Previews Wall Of Sound Festival: 1100 Springs and 100 Damned Guns
Eleven Hundred Springs specialize in a pure brand of country that should provide a perfect anti-dote for fans of that genre amidst the variety of pop, rock and electronic acts at the 2007 Wall Of Sound Festival. Lead by Matt Hillyer and Steve Berg, the band has put out a number of records on labels such as 13 Recordings and Palo Duro Records. Besides their upcoming gig at the Wall Of Sound festival, Eleven Hundred Springs recently played a benefit concert (To Mend A Broken Heart) for Ayden Ray Johnson at the Waxahachie Expo Center. In October, they will appear at the 10th Annual Tommy Alverson’s Family Gathering in Meridian, Texas.

100 Damned Guns present another homegrown country alternative at the 2007 Wall Of Sound Festival, not to mention a mighty fine band name. The Fort-Worth act recently released Songs Of Murder, Pain & Woe on TXMF Records, available for purchase on the label’s website. 100 Damned Guns’s mix of bluegrass and honky-tonk should be a solid breakfast snack for the ears early in the day. And once they’re done, do stick around at Stage Two for The Lemurs who very recently electrified our very own Local Music Is Sexy IV extravaganza. Full schedule available on the Wall Of Sound website.
