Austinist Party Preview: The Official LCD Soundsystem After Party

red7_14sept2007.jpgWith the 2007 Austin City Limits Music Festival set to take over the town shortly, it’s worthwhile to note that the music will naturally not be restricted to the fenced confines of Zilker Park. "Official" ACL-Fest after shows and sexy time aside, downtown should be bumping with a plethora of quality events. The wonderful folk from FactoryPeople and DFA Records present one such extravaganza on Friday at Red 7.

The Outdoor Stage will feature quality Texas acts such as Clap!Clap!, Ghosthustler, and Lady Pterodactyl and we expect quite the dance party out there. The turntables will be utilized by the likes of LCD Soundsystem, 2 Mandy DJ’s (comprised of Mandy Coon and Mandy Brooks), Johnny "Guns" Love (one half of (GUNS'n'BOMBS) and Black Madonna -- A strong DJ line-up to say the least. Visuals to be provided by Super!Alright!. The event kicks off at 10 p.m. but please plan to party until "a dance friendly 4 a.m." as requested by FactoryPeople!

This contest is now closed. Thanks for reading!

Thanks AGAIN Factory People for hosting a party where there is total miscommunication. Not only did the overly dramatic Red 7 bouncers badmouth Factory People but they wouldn't allow entry to people who actually bought stupidass tickets to the show. The bouncers started throwing drama queen tissies well before 2 and acted like asses to whatever poor guy came to the door thinking the party was going "till 4" as stated.

Red 7 hates everybody, even their customers. Should had it at Room 710.

Yeah, this event was a complete letdown. James Murphy's set only lasted about an hour, and there were serious technical difficulties in the middle. The night was over by 2am, despite the claim that it would extend until 4am. I'll think twice next time...
