ACL Lineup and After Show Updates & Giveaway
UPDATE: NME is also reporting that Muse will play at Stubb's on Sunday night, we'll have details as they emerge.
A lot of this might be old news for ticket holders who have been scurrying around trying to figure out how they're going to be compensated for their White Stripes @ Stubb's tickets, but it's true: Muse's performance has been moved up, and they will now occupy the White Stripes' slot, while the rest of the lineup follows, bumping everything up an hour. The schedule is now as follows:
12:30-1:30 p.m.: Dr Dog
2:30-3:30 p.m.: Augustana
4:30-5:30 p.m.: Stephen Marley
6:30-7:30 p.m.: Damien Rice
8:30-10 p.m.: Muse
If you're not familiar with Muse, it might be helpful to read this week's Band Clash. That argument is irrelevant now (as is our scheduled final installment of Band Clash), but at least one of us thought that they'd be more interesting to watch than Arctic Monkeys. More interesting than White Stripes, though? We'll plead the fifth, but we would like to encourage everyone to head over to Stubb's on Sunday, even if they're not big on GLO or Cold War Kids, because Dr. Dog are just the sort of sleeper set we get excited about at these big festivals. Despite their unfortunate name, Dr. Dog has been getting a lot of attention lately, as this year's full-length, We All Belong, garnered praise from critics and earned them a tour slot opening for none other than Wilco.
As our readers indicated yesterday, Ghostland Observatory and Cold War Kids will now occupy the after party stage over at Stubb's Sunday night, and Dr. Dog will still be playing indoors. Tickets went on sale yesterday at 5 PM, and are $25 bucks over at Frontgate.
Our very own Texas defector, St. Vincent, has also been added to the ACL lineup, and she'll be performing on the Austin Ventures stage at 4 PM on Saturday.
We can't get you in to ACL, or reunite Queen for the White Stripes slot, but we can send you to Stubb's on Sunday night for the GLO, Cold War Kids & Dr. Dog show. Fill out the form and save yourself $25:
Dr. Dog "Ain't It Strange" (mp3)
Dr. Dog "Worst Trip" (mp3)
St. Vincent "Paris Is Burning" (YouTube from DUMBO Session)

I'm more excited about Dr. Dog than I could have ever been for the White Stripes.
me too!
Muse has a show in Dallas on the 16th. Doubt they'd cancel a sold out arena gig to do C3 a favor.
Now thats a good replacement show at Stubbs!
Muse, Ghostland, and Cold War Kids... I cant wait.
Everytime I see this picture I think, "I showed her my O face".
There needs to be a campaign to put someone else on the bill for ACL, otherwise Attal is scamming the public after using the White Stripes as their premier draw to sell tickets for 3 months.
The only artist I can think of that could play a big stage and is not currently touring is Kanye West. So Attal come on pony up the 75-150K it costs to bring in Kanye, you were paying the Stripes that much, lets go. Don't let CS3 recoup sales lost on the Stubbs stage by screwing over ACL-ers!
Bring Kanye to ACL Charles Attal! Save some face! You've brought him to Lollapalooza, so you have the connections!
Pearl Jam isn't touring and they headlined Lolla.
The White Stripes were probably getting paid >$500k. Just say'n.
Ha. No.
Yeah because the White Stripes will make 5X what any other artist makes...please.

Check out the pricing dumbass! Granted the Stripes aren't on here, but its a pretty good reference. There's no way they're banking more than the Foo Fighters @ $200K.
Damn. I need to start up a sucksessful band.
I totally agree - this is just a bunch of crap on principle alone. i could personally care less about the white stripes, but the fact that Attal and Co. are essentially going to pocket that amount (whatever it is), screw all the fans who probably made their decision to buy tix because of the band, and then not put a headlining type act in their place. F-ING WEAK! And Muse is not all that.
