- The 3-year-old girl whose throat was cut by her mother's disgruntled ex-boyfriend in an attempted murder-suicide is going to be okay. Meanwhile, Assistant Police Chief David Carter declares that Officer Metcalf, who shot and killed the suspect, "saved these people's lives."
- Paul Devoe apparently killed that 81-year-old woman in Pennsylvania just to steal her car—and eight bucks from her purse. What's even more frightening is that he chased her through her house until she collapsed in the bedroom, where he shot her.
- Nearly one-fourth of all Texans don't have health insurance coverage.
