Seriously though, Van Dyke Parks was Brian Wilson's collaborator on the seminal 60's rock album SMILE, which even the Beatles recognized as being competition, if not superior to SGT. PEPPERS, since Van and Brian did not have George Martin doing all the arrangements. Any artist who has VDP as a collaborator is worth entering name and email in the Austinist's Free Tickets contest.
