Update: Saturday's scrimmage has been canceled because of heavy rains and forecasts of more in the Austin area. However, the autograph session is still slated to begin at 11 a.m. at the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center. More details at the Texas football website.
The Texas Longhorns will run through a final preseason scrimmage on Saturday morning, then hold their annual Fan Appreciation Day.
The scrimmage, which is open to the public, begins at 7:30 a.m. at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The east side stadium gates will open at 7 a.m., and because of ongoing construction, fans must sit in the east side stands only.
After the scrimmage, seniors and starters from from UT squad will sign autographs beginning at 10:30 a.m. Fans age 16 and over will be required to show a photo ID in order to request autographs and will be limited to two autograph items per person. Numbered wristbands will be distributed beginning at 7 a.m., so you won't have to stand in line during the scrimmage.
Parking will be available in the Manor Garage, across from the east side of the stadium. Again, because of the ongoing construction around the stadium, UT is directing fans to use the southwest entrance to the garage on Robert Dedman Dr.
The Longhorns open the season on Saturday, September 1 at home against Arkansas State (6 pm).
