Austinist Giveaway: Mr. Marmalade

marmalade.jpgEvery once in awhile a show comes along that sounds like a sure bet. The press for Capital T Theatre's upcoming production of Noah Haidle's Mr. Marmalade makes us believe this is just such a show:

Lucy is a four-year-old girl with a very active imagination. Unfortunately, her imaginary friend Mr. Marmalade doesn’t have much time for her. Not to mention he beats up his personal assistant, has a cocaine addiction, and a penchant for pornography. Larry, her only real friend, is the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. Mr. Marmalade is a savage black comedy about what it takes to grow up in these difficult times.

Where do we start? Drugs, porn, and death...what could be better? If that doesn't whet your whistle, take a gander at the production's photos. If David Bowers is even half as funny on stage as he appears to be in the show's stills, this'll be one hysterical black comedy.

To sweeten things up, we're pleased to drop a pair of tickets to the opening weekend performance of your choice: Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, 8pm at Hyde Park Theatre. Be the first to enter below and you've won!

Congratulations to our winner!

Didn't win? Reserve tickets for a paltry $15-25 (sliding scale) here.
